Simple ideas to lift your week, with easy breakfast ideas and everyday inspiration

Hello!

Can you believe we are over 100 days into 2026? Time seems to be moving at such a pace, it has me thinking about the importance of slowing down and finding joy in the simple, everyday moments.

Whether it's taking the time for a few minutes with the book you really don't want to put down, having a quick cup of tea in the garden or simply smelling the flowers, it is almost always the smallest moments that can make us feel more grounded.

Oh, and I have a question for you. Are you someone who looks forward to breakfast, or is it something you tend to skip?

I definitely fall into the first category. For me, there's nothing like waking up and knowing that there's something delicious waiting for me to enjoy before I get on with my day - even if I need to be out of the house quickly.

So, whether you are a fan of breakfast or not, I have some deliciously versatile recipes to share. They make a great start to the day, encouraging you to take a moment even if time is at a premium. And many of them will also work later on as a snack, hopefully encouraging you to take a break to refresh and restore.

And after the recipes, I'll share a little glimpse of what I've been working on lately!

5 Delicious Breakfast Recipes

Most of these can either be prepared ahead, or pulled together in under 15 minutes.

Italian Breakfast Banana Bread

This espresso-spiked loaf is perfect for breakfast (or later!), either plain or spread with butter.

Blueberry Chia Muffins

With a hint of lemon and ginger and a delicious streusel topping, this may become your new favourite muffin recipe!

Rhubarb and Almond Baked Oatmeal

Citrus-spiked rhubarb and crunchy almonds - yum! This recipe takes a bit longer to bake, so I make it on the weekend and enjoy it in the days to come.

Pear Walnut & Ginger Porridge

With natural flavours and no refined sugars, this porridge is good for you, but it tastes like a real treat! And it only takes 15 minutes to make!

Best Avocado Toast

With lots of flavour and spice, this recipe is quicker to make than you might thing & it also makes a great light lunch. If you have time, why not top it with a poached or fried egg?

What I've Been Working On

I have a photo shoot this week and I can't wait! We'll be working on four scenes - some road trip fashion shots with Tiffany, our 1955 Chevy, a vintage afternoon tea in the garden featuring a new scone recipe - and two new things I will keep secret for now but I can't wait to share!

I'm busily putting getting locations ready (ie. tidying up!!) and putting together props as well as assembling my wardrobe.

I have also been curating my Amazon storefront with a few things I am loving at the moment - simple, useful finds for home, kitchen and everyday life. where you will find things I genuinely use and love. You can explore it here* if you like. (affiliate link)

This week I'm...

(Re) Reading - The Happiness Project*and Happier at Home* by Gretchen Rubin. I like to revisit both of these books at least once a year.

(Re) Watching - The Devil Wears Prada before going to see The Devil Wears Prada 2. (I can't wait! Have you seen it?)

Listening to - I'm still listening to The Correspondent* - and I'm definitely enjoying it so far!

Starting - With the year moving along so quickly, I have found myself wanting to press pause and begin again with a little more intention. I have just started a new Legend Planner* and as always (this is my third!) I am enjoying the space it provides for reflection and goal setting as well as everyday appointments and plans.

Looking forward to - my photo shoot tomorrow! Keep an eye on my socials for some behind the scenes (links below my signature block), and of course I'll share lots here in the next edition as well.

That's all for now. Wishing you a lovely week, with plenty of simple moments to enjoy along the way.

Hello! This morning I opened up my email to find a message entitled "The Perfect Books for Late Summer Reading - Savour the last pages of summer". Friends, it is mid-June. The solstice was just last weekend and summer has hardly begun. Why is there this incredible pressure to rush through our days, weeks, months and seasons? There's nothing wrong with planning ahead, but only with the intention of making things easier as time moves forward, not in order to rush through the season we are in. I...

Hello! Happy June! How are things in your corner of the world? My birthday is in June, so I'm a bit biased, but I have always loved this month. The days are longer, the weather is generally getting a bit warmer, and roses and peonies - my favourite flowers - are in season. I'm thinking about days spent exploring, relaxed entertaining, and afternoons in the shade with a good book and a glass of ice tea. And of course my birthday, which I still get very excited about. One thing I know for sure...

Hello! How are things in your corner of the world? Lately I have been thinking a lot about what it means to curate a life you love. It's not about perfection or filling every moment with extraordinary things, but more thoughtfully choosing (where you can) to embrace the things that make you feel joyful and fulfilled. Enjoying the beautiful flower displays at Belgravia in Bloom From the food we cook to the places we visit, the clothes we wear and even the beauty that we notice along the way,...
